Hey, Im Billy Kidd. I do the 2-6pm rock radio show for 1035 WIMZ, Knoxville's Classic Rock. Started this job August 1st, 1990. Originally from Livingston, Tenn (100 miles west of Knoxville). Attended UT Knoxville from 1977-1981, then moved to Atlanta to embark on my radio career. Big jump for a guy who grew up in a town of 3000! Got married in 1985, divorced in 1988, and had NO KIDS! (Thank God). Managed stations and did mornings in the Cookeville market from 1984 to 1990 and then came to Knoxville and created a radical night show called "Outlaw Radio''. 15 months later moved to afternoons for 3 years, then moved to mornings with Phil Williams for a seven year run as "Phil and Billy in the Morning". Most fun I've had in this business. But, as they say, all good things must come to an end. The company decided to put on the syndicated "John Boy and Billy Big Show" and moved me to afternoons, which is where I've been since. I'll always remember the day I moved back to afternoons. It was the Monday after 9-11, 2001.
